iPhoneBuzz: Apple iPhone 3G hands-on roundup

Several hands-on iPhone 3G reports from after the WWDC 2008 Keynote are out, and as you might expect they’re all saying pretty much the same thing. Despite the few extra millimeters thickness over the old iPhone, Apple’s newly slimmed edges disguise it well and the plastic - which is a concession to the numerous wireless radios packed inside - feels reasonable, though some question how scratch-resistant it will prove. Apple are claiming it’ll disguise wear better than the original. The buttons have been switched to metal for aesthetic, not practical reasons, and are sharper-edged. A few people have suggested that the new, white 16GB handset is particularly feminine, though that’s more personal choice than anything else.

Rumor: Nokia N79 and Vodafone Branded Nokia 5800 XpressMedia for Real?

You will never know what you can find in the big flickr picture collection. Today talkaboutnseries.com has “accidentally” found a list of unannounced model, including the Nokia N85 we reported earlier on.

Nokia N79
These are actually a good and clear leak, although there isn’t any description put together with the photos. The Nokia N79 looks like another 3G phone from Nokia, coms with a Carl Zeiss camera lens (the megapixel wording is too blur for us to determine). 2 flash LEDs will help you in low light photography, the camera lens is protected by a lens cover too.

Nokia N79
The next leak is the familiar Nokia “tube”, the new S60 touch UI which is available in year 2009. It should be the first S60 touch UI phone from Nokia and will be featuring a wide screen with 16:9 ratio. It will support quad band network, come with built in bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, HSDPA/UTMS to give you a complete wireless package. The touch UI in this prototype do not support multitouch, but does have haptic feedback when you touch the screen.

This model is called Nokia 5800 XpressMedia according to flickr, you can also see a 3.2 megapixel camera at its back with auto focus capability. It will be on its way to Vodafone customer, probably for users in Europe.

Apple Introduces MobileMe Internet Service

Apple today introduced MobileMe, a new Internet service that delivers push email, push contacts and push calendars for iPhone, iPod touch, Macs and PCs. MobileMe also provides a suite of elegant, ad-free web applications that deliver a desktop-like experience through any modern browser. MobileMe applications (www.me.com) include Mail, Contacts and Calendar, as well as Gallery for viewing and sharing photos and iDisk for storing and exchanging documents online.MobileMe
“Think of MobileMe as ‘Exchange for the rest of us’,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Now users who are not part of an enterprise that runs Exchange can get the same push email, push calendars and push contacts that the big guys get.”

MobileMe, available on July 11, is a subscription-based service with 20GB of storage for $99 (US) per year for individuals and $149 (US) for a Family Pack, which includes one master account with 20GB of storage and four Family Member accounts with 5GB of storage each. Samsung Tocco

We’ve talked a lot about the Samsung Instinct and its cool functionalities. We’ve also participated at an online presentation hosted by Sprint, where we found several new details about the upcoming full-touchscreen model while watching the demonstration of several capabilities this amazing cell phone comes with but until it will be available we want to show you a new advanced handset, the beautiful Samsung Tacco aka Samsung F480.
samsung mobileIt too features full touch-sensitive interface with haptics and looks very similar with the Instinct, but brings some innovative characteristics such as a unique customizable user interface and the brushed metal finish, in a protective leather case.
“Tocco” name comes from the Italian verb “toccar” which means “to touch”. The “tocco” form of this verb is the first person form referring at “I touch”.
samsung mobileNow let’s get back to the specifications! Samsung Tocco integrates a 5MP camera with automatic face detection and image stabilizer like in digital cameras, a 2.8-inch large QVGA LCD display of 362K colors, and full Internet browser for great viewability while reading stuff on the Internet.
It gives you access to music recognition features, a 240MB internal music memory, memory card slot for up to 8GB of media storage and an FM radio for listening to your favorite tunes while on the go.
samsung mobileThanks to the widgets-based menu you can drag-and-drop things like on your computer and play with birthday reminders, music player and radio player.
One nice aspect is its small size, almost of a credit card and with a stylish body measuring just 11.6 mm thickness. Another nicer aspect is that you can download things that interest you with a speed of up to 7.2Mbps because the Smartphone supports HSDP connectivity standard.
Samsung Tocco runs on the Croix UI operating system.

The company is investing £3.5 million in its advertising campaign and we can’t wait to find out more about it!
At the moment we also know that the cool cell phone has Bluetooth 2.0 support with A2DP and AVRCP, Mobile Printing capability and a talk time of up to 3 hours using a Li-Ion battery of 1000 mAh.
