Mobiado Launches new Luxury Phone: the Professional CAMO

Mobiado today unveils the Professional CAMO; the second Mobiado mobile phone in the Extreme Mobility series. The Professional CAMO is created from aircraft aluminum to build a strong yet light body, brushed polished, and then anodized to produce a ceramic surface for the toughest of uses.
The phone buttons are stainless steel and the front is coated with DiamondShield, an advanced coating available for polymer substrates with diamond like properties. The camouflage colors are individually hand painted directly into the protective anodized layer. No two phones are alike, and with just 200 produced, each Professional CAMO is a symbol of extreme exclusivity.

The Professional CAMO is unlocked and tri-band GSM network operational. Porsche P9521

Porsche P9521 made by Sagem was released last year and it became fast the image of style and elegance in design. Now Porsche Design decided to release it in white and include it in the new White Collection together with few other superb products for everyday use.

Porsche P9521 is encased in stainless steel and features fingerprint security, a new technology adopted by top cell phone manufacturers.
The housing is made of solid aluminum and the screen is scratch-resistant thanks to the mineral glass material. It rotates at 180 degrees and integrates also a built-in 3.2MP camera with autofocus, flash and digital zoom.
Starting this spring, Porsche P9521 is available only in North America at prices around $1,500 featuring music player, a 2.2-inch AM-OLED QVGA display of 262K colors, a 1.15-inch AM-OLED display of 65K colors, Bluetooth, FTP profiles support, USB 2.0, EDGE, email, Internet browsing via Opera, video recording/streaming, visual and sound effects.

Gigaset Eco Visions

After winning the Best of the Best Red Dot Design Award last year for its Helium telephone concept, Formwelt presents two new cool and eco-friendly models on their website.
In 2007, the project initiated by Siemens Home and Office Communication, consisted of a complete home communication console device adopting a few high-end technologies including multi-touch-sensitivity, an organic shape, haptics, intuitive interface, OLED display, and a built-in 3D loudspeaker.

Now, Formwelt design studio from Munich are showing the Gigaset Eco Visions creations – Solar and Leaf- projects sustained by Siemens, as a green alternative for what exists o the market today.
Solar is as its name suggests, a solar-powered phone coming in an ultra-thin and sleek shape, made of lightweight materials including light metal, eco-plastic and glass.
It sports a touch-sensitive OLED display, same as the Leaf, the other phone concept that comes in a green-white color and a lightweight and sleek form factor.
It features haptic technology and we’re wondering if we’ll see it among Red Dot Design Awards winners this year.

Neonode N2 in New Colors

The Neonode N2 cell phone with optical touchscreen is available now in several fresh new colors: Lime, Azure, Rubine and Roza, these together with the Black version.

Neonode is a Sweedish company that develops touchscreen technologies and designs cell phones.

The cell phone was launched last summer and sold 31,000 units until the end of 2007.
It is a quad-band coming with the Neno user interface, music player, Calendar, ActiveSync, miniSD memory card support for up to 32GB of memory, Bluetooth, FTP profiles support, stereo headphones support, mono loudspeaker, vibration, and a built-in 2MP camera with video recorder in MPEG and WMV.

Neonode N2 also sports a 2-inch display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and 65K colors, while measuring less than a credit card,47 x 77 x 14.7 mm, at a weight of 60 grams.

It is available at €339, a price that includes VAT, shipment and handling.

GIGABYTE unveils SmartTouch - user interface extension for finger-based navigation

GSmart has announced newly developed UI software Smart Touch, which is a finger friendly interface that works like iPhone according to the company. The software will be available soon in May, although leaked beta version has been around on the internet.

Smart Touch is an interface that users can customize by adding in 16 most frequently used apps as shortcuts on standby screen, with the shortcuts list displaying at the bottom of the screen, users are able to find the shortcuts they want to activate by swiping across the screen and launch the program simply by tapping on the icon!

EB, TerreStar Networks Promise Slim Smartphone with Dual-Mode Satellite-Terrestrial HSPA Supported

EB and TerreStar Networks has done their first dual-mode satellite-terrestrial HSPA reference design handset in a PDA form factor. The slim smartphone will allow users to seamlessly and securely stay connected to both the satellite and terrestrial components of the TerreStar network.

Additionally, EB and TerreStar are working to enable device manufacturers to rapidly bring to market the world’s first quad-band GSM and tri-band WCDMA/HSPA smartphone with integrated all-IP satellite-terrestrial voice and data capabilities. The number 1 specialist in cell phones distribution in France, ModeLabs has announced the MTV cell phone called MTV3.3, prepared for releasing on April 23.

Orange France Gets Levi Strauss 3G Phone

Orange France has an exclusive deal with Levis to launch a Levis branded phone, the Levi Strauss 3G slider. Supporting GSM triband and WCDMA, the phone will come with integrated bluetooth, microSD card slot and a jog dial pad for easy scrolling your music playlist.
The Levi Strauss 3G Phone will be sold at Euro 279 without contract when available.

MWg to officially introduce its Windows Mobile Smartphones in Europe

It looks like Asian handset outfit MWg is getting ready to bust out the family tree and make an homage back to the lands of its ancestors for a triumphant (it’d hope, anyway) new beginning. However, now - where MWg doesn’t belongs to O2/Telefónica any longer but belongs to Expansys now - the Windows Mobile specialist is expanding its business to Europe as well.

MWg is holding a press event next month which is about the official European launch of MWg. Mark Billington, former head of O2 Asia and now CEO of MWg will provide an introduction to the company’s objectives and strategies.

Levi’s ultra limited edition Red Tab mobile phone now available to order

Forget the fashion handset - if you want real exclusivity, you need to get your hands on the Levi’s ultra limited edition Red Tab mobile phone. Levi’s has updated its line of mobile phones with the limited edition, “Red Tab”. Spec-wise, the limited edition packs the same muscle power as “The Original” which is a 2-megapixel camera with flash, MP3 player, and Bluetooth with A2DP. The phone still sports the same stylish, black-steel metal casing as its predecessor.

Only 100 Red Tabs will be made available, costing 549 Euros (around $870 US) at the very chic online French retailer Colette. The phone will come in a “premium” package which includes a metal chain to attach the phone to your pants, a hands-free headset, and phone case—you wouldn’t want to be scratching a near thousand dollar phone, would you? If you’d like, Levi’s can customize the phone with your name, up to 13 characters.

Hummer and ModeLabs Introduces Hummer HT2

ModeLabs Group recently announced the release of its second Hummer-branded cell phone, the HT2.The product is being launched as part of the exclusive licensing contract concluded in February 2007 with HUMMER, a division of the General Motors Corporation.

The HT2 has up to 500 hours of autonomy in stand-by mode, is quad-band and features Dual-SIM (two lines in a single mobile), a built-in modem and e-mail client. The press release did not mention if it is Dual GSM or GSM + CDMA line though. Other features include

Sky Show their IMS310L Slider Phone

Sky is presenting its slider phone ‘IM-S310L’ dubbed as ‘Quilt’ in Korea market, which features diamond patterns on the front panel.

Adopting a 2.4-inch QVGA screen and a 1.3M camera, the Quilt phone supports LED lighting, mp3 player, BankOn service, electronic dictionary function and more. Coming in three different colors including white, black and pink, it is expected to be available below 400,000(KRW).

“Call Me” Button Acts Like a Toll-Free Number While Keeping Your Phone Number Private

Mobivox announced the launch of its new “Call Me” button. You can place the Call Me button into the e-mail signatures or onto social network profiles, blogs, auction sites and other Web pages, enabling you to receive calls from around the world, while keeping your phone numbers private.When the Call Me button is clicked, a Call Me page appears containing an online form to initiate the call to the Mobivox member. The Call Me button then connects the call after the Mobivox member has been identified as being available. The Call Me button also acts like a toll-free number for the call initiator. Not only does the Call Me button keep the member’s phone number hidden, but members can also configure the button to direct calls to an alternate number.

Yaphe explains, “When I am in Montreal, I configure my button to call me at the office, whereas when I am traveling, I can direct it to my mobile phone. It essentially follows me wherever I am.” The button can also be configured to restrict certain calls and can be activated or deactivated at will.

Sling preps mobile player for UIQ phones, N95 8GB

Sling Media, makers of the video-shifting Slingbox, have announced a new SlingPlayer Mobile client for Symbian UIQ. The new version will allow some Sony-Ericsson and Motorola phones to stream and remotely control Slingbox devices at home whenever the device is connected to either a 3G or Wi-Fi network. The initial lineup will include the P1i and P990i smartphones, the M600i, as well as the W950i and W960i Walkman phones. Motorola’s RIZR Z8 is also included, Sling said. The updated version of the software will be available in the summer and will sell for $30 to first-time users but will also be downloadable for free for existing owners.


Sling also noted that it had expanded SlingPlayer for Symbian Series 60 phones to the N95 8GB. Nokia’s phone will have access to a Slingbox through either European or North American 3G networks in addition to short-range Wi-Fi. The update will be free for existing users and should ship ahead of the UIQ release, arriving in spring.

Sharp’s Internet machine 922SH to be released in Japan via SoftBank

Sharp launches its 3G mobile phone ‘922SH’ in Japan market through SoftBank, which is expected to be available on 28th March. Measuring 56*116*17mm at 132g, it comes with four different colors including pearl white, metallic black, bronze gold and pearl pink.
Supporting 1-Seg, international roaming service, HSDPA and Bluetooth connectivity, the 922HS is quipped with a full qwerty keyboard, a 3.5-inch 260,000 pixel display with 480 x 854 resolution, and a 2M camera.
